Bhutan as a Safe Travel Destination

  • Bhutan, the land of the Thunder dragon, is buffered between the two giants, India and China. In Bhutan we experience spring, summer, autumn and winter separately. Bhutan is filled with natural wonders, cultural wonders and spiritual wonders. Small Rivers flowing through valleys, surrounded by green Hills with snow-capped mountains, the Charm of Bhutan is absolutely Priceless.

  • Sustainable socio-economic development, preservation and promotion of culture and tradition, and preservation and protection of natural environment are at the forefront of government policy. Every decision is carefully weighed for the benefit of its people’s happiness. At the end of the day our nation wants our citizens to be happy. If you ever have a doubt that whether Bhutan is safe to travel, then you just have to imagine yourself going home after a months of education in boarding school. As a traveler you will be assured with same happiness that we want for our own self.

  • Bhutan is a Democratic Constitutional Monarchy kingdom. Under the king, the political situation is quite stable. People of Bhutan have a massive respect for the king and the constitution of Bhutan. Furthermore, Buddhism is considered as the official religion and it has a great significance to people, making them live in harmony and be kind to everyone. Protests, riots and resistance on the streets are never seen and heard.

  • Bhutan is reported to have a very low rate of traffic accidents. Tourists on their first visit to Bhutan are mostly awestruck to witness the traffic policeman regulating the movement of vehicles in the middle of a town. Tourists are found videotaping traffic policemen waving his hand in white gloves. The fact is that the vehicle’s movements are operated so well, where traffic accidents are rare even without the traffic lights.

  • Bhutan is safe to visit for the female and single traveler since the local people are enormously helpful and gentle. You just have to choose a trustworthy travel agency. Then, you will be accompanied by a good private guide, driver & transport. They will take good care of you every time and every day until you leave the country.

  • Getting mugged or robed in Bhutan is very uncommon. Especially crimes against travelers are completely unheard in Bhutan, making Bhutan probably the safest destination in the world for travelers. In general, Bhutan also has a low rate of crimes; this may be due to the strong belief and practice of Buddhism making people kind and polite to each other. The amount of robbery, terrorism and violent crime are hardly reported in the country. For these reasons, crime in Bhutan is at the lowest rate compared to other nations and it makes Bhutan a safe place to visit.

  • If you are worried about your health, then you are very blessed to experience free medical services provided by the government for all the people. You might have heard of the very first covid-19 case in Bhutan. A 76 year old man from United States of America tested positive for covid-19 in Thimphu who came to Bhutan as a tourist. The health officials and staff of Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital worked hard to save his life. As soon as his condition was stable, he was safely returned to his country.

For communicable diseases, Bhutan is well equipped with vaccines. According to WHO (World Health Organization) Bhutan have the following vaccines:  Hepatitis A  Hepatitis B  Polio  Typhoid  Varicella  Japanese B Encephalitis  Rabies  Tuberculosis  Meningitis
